The Northwood Lake Watershed Association has begun a crowdsourcing campaign to raise funds for the treatment of milfoil in Northwood Lake. The campaign is through GoFundMe. Below is the campaign information:
We need your help to save the natural beauty and wildlife on the shores of Northwood Lake. Common Loons, Bald Eagles, and Great Blue Heron are among the species of wildlife that call the Lake home. Variable Invasive Milfoil is a runaway weed choking Northwood Lake, threatening its value as a home to wildlife and as a resource to its community.
Fighting Variable Invasive Milfoil is expensive, with limited State and Municipal funding. NO Federal funding is available. Please contribute to our 2016 fight to ensure that Northwood Lake will remain a vibrant place where all can continue to live, learn and grow.
The Northwood Lake Watershed Association oversees the lake’s health and welfare. The money collected by this initiative will be used 100% for the expensive work of controlling Variable Invasive Milfoil threatening the Lake’s survival. Please read the Concord Monitor article detailing the impact and challenges of Variable Invasive Milfoil.
